There is no single best Shopify agency in the Netherlands. There's the one that fits your brand, and that depends on where you are right now. If you run on Shopify Plus, or you need B2B, several markets and heavy integrations, look at Ask Phill or Flatline. If you want a Dutch-language agency with a long list of services, look at Opklopper. And if you own a premium fashion or beauty brand and you'd like strategy, design and build with the founder leading your project, look at Design by Karina.

In short

  • There's no single best agency, because the right one depends on your size, your platform and what needs work.

  • Shopify Plus specialists suit brands with several markets, B2B or heavy integrations.

  • If the brand and the store itself need the work, look for an agency that's clear about fashion or beauty and lets you work with the person leading your project.

A note before you read. We wrote this list and we're on it, so please read it knowing that. Design by Karina is a strategy-first boutique Shopify agency in Rotterdam for premium fashion and beauty brands. We design and build Shopify stores for brands across the Netherlands and Belgium, and we turn what makes your brand different into a reason to choose you. The other agencies are described by what they say about themselves and by who they suit, not by scores, because I can't check another agency's results and I don't want to pretend I can. At the end you'll find a list of questions. Use them on every agency here, including us.

How did we choose these agencies?

We started from the questions business owners ask when they're looking for an agency, like "which Shopify agency is best for my beauty brand?", and looked at what the answers come down to. Then we picked Dutch agencies that work with fashion, beauty or lifestyle brands and are clear about their focus. That last part matters to me, because when an agency says who it's for, you can already judge a lot before you talk to anyone.

This is what came out of it. On the left is what people look for, and on the right is where you can check it yourself.

Which Shopify agencies in the Netherlands work with fashion and beauty brands?

I've put them in two groups, by fit and not by rank. Within each group they're in alphabetical order, with us at the end of ours.

For Shopify Plus and larger brands

Ask Phill (Amsterdam)

Ask Phill calls itself a Shopify Plus agency and Shopify Platinum Partner for fashion, lifestyle and beauty brands across Europe, with a strong focus on migrations to Shopify. It shows indicative prices on its site.

Best for: established brands on Shopify Plus, or moving to it, that sell in several countries.

Flatline (Amsterdam)

Flatline is a Shopify Platinum Partner that sells Shopify, marketing and AI consultancy under one roof, with the line "the luxury standard in digital". It has industry pages for fashion, beauty and jewelry, a site in English, Dutch and German, and offices in Berlin and Dubai next to Amsterdam. Prices are not on the site, so you start with a call.

Best for: premium brands that want their store, ads and email handled by one team.

For growing brands

Opklopper (Amsterdam)

Opklopper calls itself a brand-led boutique Shopify Plus Partner from Amsterdam, and says fashion is its strongest sector, next to lifestyle and retail. It writes in Dutch and covers a wide range of Shopify work: redesign, development, B2B, migrations, technical SEO and conversion.

Best for: Dutch brands that want a wide range of Shopify services, including SEO, from one agency.

Design by Karina (Rotterdam)

This one is us, so I'll tell you how we work. I'm Karina Paviotti, the founder, and I lead every project from the intro call to launch. I worked in product design at Uber, helping shape payment experiences for drivers, and I saw the same moment again and again: the screen where someone decides whether to trust you with their money. On a store, that moment happens on the product page and at checkout.

So we listen first, we research, and we decide what your buyer needs to know before anything gets designed. Then we design and build the store on Shopify, and we work on the words with you, because on a store the words do as much of the selling as the design. We're based in Rotterdam and we work with brands across the Netherlands and Belgium, like VYOLA (made-to-measure body jewelry), Thereza Pedrosa Gallery (contemporary art jewelry) and Zourani (LED face masks).

With a fashion brand, that means we start with size, fit and returns on the product page, and only then talk about how the store looks. With a beauty brand, we start with the doubts people have before they order.

Best for: business owners with a premium fashion or beauty brand, often on their first proper store or their second, who want to work directly with the founder on strategy, design and build.

This is what each agency says about itself on its own site, read on 5 November 2026. Agencies change, so please check their own site too.

Good to know in the Netherlands

Whichever agency you pick, these are the Dutch things it should know without looking them up. iDEAL | Wero at checkout, and what Shopify asks for before you can turn it on. Bancontact, if you also sell in Belgium. Prices that include BTW for your customers. And the legal side of a Dutch webshop: your KVK and BTW numbers on the store, the 14-day cooling-off period and the withdrawal button that has been required since June 2026. Ask how they handle these, because it tells you quickly how much Dutch work they've done.

Do you need a Shopify Plus agency or a boutique Shopify agency?

It depends on what kind of problem you have. If it's operational, like running several stores, B2B at scale, a custom checkout or daily integrations with other systems, you need a Plus agency, because that's the work they're set up for. If the problem is the brand and the store itself, like the design, the words, the product page, the first order and the second one, you need a boutique Shopify agency, because then someone has to get to know your brand and look closely.

An easy way to tell: if none of those operational problems sound familiar, you're probably in the second group.

What does a Shopify agency in the Netherlands cost?

Some agencies on this list show prices and others don't. Ask Phill gives indicative prices on its site, Opklopper names a starting point, and Flatline asks you to plan a call. What moves the cost is the same everywhere: the number of products, custom design, languages, integrations and whether you're moving from another platform. So when you compare two quotes, check first that they include the same things, because a lower number sometimes just means less is in it.

Ours start from €4,500 for The Launch, from €6,900 for The Atelier and from €9,500 for Bespoke, excluding BTW, with the full price in your proposal. For more on what a store costs, read How much does a Shopify store cost in 2026? and What does a Shopify agency cost?

Which questions should you ask any of them?

These are useful whoever you end up with, and they're fair questions, so a good agency won't mind them.

  • Who leads my project, and how often will I speak to that person?

  • Can you show a case from a brand our size, not only your biggest client?

  • What do you not do, and who does that instead?

  • Is the price agreed before you start, and what isn't included?

  • Who owns the store, the accounts and the content after launch?

  • What happens after launch, and what does it cost?

Questions

Which is the best Shopify agency in the Netherlands?

There isn't one best agency, only the best fit for your brand. If you're on Plus with B2B or several markets, you'll usually look at Plus specialists like Ask Phill or Flatline. If you run a premium brand yourself and the store is what needs work, a boutique Shopify agency like ours can be the better fit, because you work directly with the person leading your project.

What is the best Shopify agency in Rotterdam?

I can't be neutral on this one, because we're a Shopify agency in Rotterdam ourselves, so we're on the list and you should weigh that. Being close by is nice, but what matters more is whether the agency fits your brand, so I'd use the questions above on anyone you're considering, in Rotterdam or anywhere else.

Which Shopify agency is best for a fashion brand?

Look for a clear view on size, fit and returns, and for stores where the look and the trust carry the sale, because that's what a fashion buyer is weighing up. Opklopper, Ask Phill and Flatline all name fashion as a focus. At Design by Karina we design the product page around those same questions. On VYOLA, for example, the size guidance and the fit guarantee sit directly under the size field, right where the question comes up.

Which Shopify agency is best for a beauty brand?

Ask Phill and Flatline both name beauty as a focus. At Design by Karina we designed and built the Shopify store for Zourani's LED face masks, and we design beauty stores around the doubts buyers have before they order.

Do I need a Shopify Plus Partner?

Only if you're on Shopify Plus, or moving to it, and you need what Plus adds, like a custom checkout or B2B. If you're not sure, ask the agency what you'd get from it that you can't get now.

How much does a Shopify agency in the Netherlands cost?

It depends on the agency and on what's in the price. Some show a starting point on their site and others tell you on a call. At Design by Karina, The Launch starts from €4,500, The Atelier from €6,900 and Bespoke from €9,500, excluding BTW. The full price is in your proposal.

How do I check an agency's Shopify Partner status?

Look it up in the Shopify Partner Directory. A profile there shows the partner's tier and location. I'd look while you're comparing, because a tier is one signal among others, and the cases tell you more about whether an agency fits your brand.

What do the Shopify partner tiers mean?

Shopify sorts partners by how much they've brought to the platform. Until the end of 2026 the tiers are Select, Plus, Premier and Platinum. From 1 January 2027 they're called Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond, and every partner moves into the tier they qualify for, so what you read on an agency's site may change. A higher tier tells you the agency has done a lot of volume on Shopify. It doesn't tell you it's the right size for your brand.

Is a Shopify agency better than a freelancer?

Not by definition. A freelancer can be the better choice when you know what you want and you need someone to build it. An agency makes sense when you want strategy, design and build in one place. We compare them in How do you choose the right Shopify agency in the Netherlands?

Can a Dutch Shopify agency set up my store for Belgium too?

Yes, and it's worth asking how. Belgian customers expect Bancontact, and you may need French next to Dutch. At Design by Karina, VYOLA takes both Bancontact and iDEAL, and Zourani sells in Dutch, French and English.

Why is Design by Karina on its own list?

Because we're one of the options you'd be comparing, and leaving ourselves out would hide that. We say so at the top, and we describe the others by their own words.

How did you pick the agencies?

We picked Dutch agencies that work with fashion, beauty or lifestyle brands and are clear about their focus. We didn't score them, because we can't check another agency's results.
